Coupon Shopping!
I started coupon shopping this last year and it has really saved me tons of money as we try to establish a food/everything storage. I have been using coupons to shop sales, so as the item is already on sale I then use a coupon to make it even cheaper. Most recently Kmart was doing a double coupon event, where you take your coupons and they will double the value of it. So instead of just saving $1 it becomes $2. So I went to Kmart in search of cleaners and toothbrushes and stuff like that.
I ended up before coupons with a total of $58 and had 22 items, after the coupons my total was $17 + tax. So I was pretty proud of my pile. This wasn't even my best deals with coupons, but it sure paid off. Using coupons on food items also has helped get my storage to a 3 month supply while trying to save money.
Using coupons have been really easy, as I use the following website...http://www.pinchingyourpennies.com/ and it does all the work for me. It finds all the good deals with each weeks grocery adds. Plus it finds more coupons online that I can print and use, besides just the ones from the newspapers.

Valentine's Day.
So for valentine's day this year. Troy and I decided to stay home since its always a pain to go out to eat. So I made breakfast for everyone. We had Banana Crepes with whipped cream. The kids always like to use food coloring in things that I make so we used red for the crepes.
It was all devoured very quickly. I liked the recipe but will probably make a few slight changes the next time I cook it.
Learning a New Skill...Quilting.
So I always make a baby blanket when we have a baby. Usually I just tie the blanket. But I decided this time around I wanted to try something new. So I found this fabric and really liked it.
I quilted each flower picking something from the middle to follow. After many questions and getting sick during the middle of it, I finally finished it. Thanks to my wonderful husband who made the frames for me. So now I can do more quilts in the future. I enjoyed learning how to do it and in the end it turned out great.

Turning 30!
So this year for my Birthday, Troy took James to Church and I stayed home with Isaac who was sick. Which was great, because I took the time to cook the dinner that I wanted, and bake the cake that I wanted. I guess that's what you get when your pregnant and turning 30. It was much easier to just do it myself. I made buffalo wings for dinner. My cake was a strawberry cake with a cool whip and cream cheese frosting and then layered with fresh strawberries. Everything turned out great.
My Birthday Cake!!!

So I reached the big 30! Crazy...I am no longer in my 20's. Its funny thinking back over the last few years and all the changes. At church when new couples move in or a missionary comes back it seems like just yesterday that I was doing that, but I have married for 6 years, and I have been back from my mission for almost 8 years. It has gone so fast and I wouldn't trade any of it. So on to a new year, full of new surprises and challenges. YEAH!
Oscar Returns!
