James our muscle man!

Since moving into our house, the mailbox has always sat a little funny...and wasn't the greatest height either. So its been on our "to do" list for some time now. Well the other day the Young Women and Young Men were doing a service scavenger hunt for members of the ward. So a couple of cars got parked half in our yard and half on the street. One leader decided to back up and couldn't see the mailbox and managed to knock it over. We soon found out that the mailbox post was only sunk about a foot down into the ground. Not very stable to say the least. So we put it back up that night, with plans to fix it the next day. However Troy decided to play a trick on James. He always goes out and checks for the newspaper and the mail everyday. So Troy told him to go out and get the newspaper, but to be careful since he is so strong we don't want him to knock over the mailbox.

Of course out went James even more determined than ever to knock over that mailbox. Sure enough it came down with out much work.

Our Green Day!

What better way to celebrate St. Patricks day then having a nice green breakfast. Isaac had to be up for school, so it had to be something that didn't take to much time. Biscuits and GREEN gravy, pineapple juice colored green and of course green applesauce.

James and Isaac really liked all the green food. However since then James has taken a new fascination with ORANGE...its his new favorite color. Now he wants all of his meals to have orange stuff in it. Crazy kid...I did get an orange cauliflower the other day in my basket, and this week we have cantaloupe. So it actually hasn't been that hard, and it really doesn't matter what it is as long as its orange. Plus food coloring works wonders on non orange food.

Rainy Weather Day!

The other day we had a bad weather day, snowy and yucky outside. So James was trying to entertain himself...here is what he did!

Over 100 books, lined up from the living room all the way to their bedroom.

It was great for James, since he kept lining up the books, and Isaac used his great skills at counting the books over and over and over. Great practice for school, even James tried counting them.

James always comes up with something new to do in life. His mind just never stops running.

Apples, Apples, and more Apples!

I LOVE Granny Smith apples, they have always been my favorite. So when I was able to get a case of them for only .46 cents a lb. I just couldn't pass it up. So here I was with about 38lbs of giant, beautiful green apples.

38lbs is a lot of apples. But these were perfect apples for canning. So Troy and I got to work.

We ended up with 33 quart jars of Apple slices. About 2 apples a jar is all it took, since these were so big. Now we have jars of sliced apples! YUM.

The same week I got the apples this was our lovely coop basket. The boys have just loved getting the baskets. Always looking to see what goodies come each week.

So I found this really cool website http://www.knockoffwood.blogspot.com/ that I just love. It is awesome. So here is our first project that we did. Actually Troy did most of the work, since Annie is walking now, she can't come out to the garage because she just gets into everything!

Gathering all the pictures and making them hang just right. The table makes the entry way seem more grown up, instead of having the kids shoes everywhere.
